We ate out and got home right at dark and in the rain after the first days ride. The girls tent was in a 2" deep puddle and it was leaking. I was nearly lynched this night. We quickly set up a tarp for cover, Liz and Vivian slept in the van and Sylvia came and stayed in our tent. I was soaked to the bone by the time I was finished with the setup and was happy to get into the warm sleeping bag.

When we woke up the next morning the sun wasn't shining but it wasn't raining. The plan was a bit different this time. I left Char and the girls at the campground to pack up camp while I drove down to Rattlesnake Lake (the Westmost trailhead) and rode up to meet them.

The whole ride down on the second day was dry and overall it was a great day of riding. Char and the girls only rode about 9 miles but they had about half a mile of hike-a-bike to get up to the trail so they were still worked a bit. There were 3 big tressles along the route.

Starting out from Rattlesnake lake with the trusty Enduro. Incidentally EVERYTHING in Western Washington is covered with moss.
